U.S.A. Bloomsburg, PA – October 13, 2015. — SEKISUI Polymer Innovations, LLC (formerly KYDEX, LLC) will host two educational events for students this November.
Saturday, November 7 during Science and Technology: For Real! the manufacturer will offer FREE science workshops for 4th and 5th grade students at Central Columbia High School in Bloomsburg. Chemists and engineers will teach hands-on experiments featuring the science behind products that improve our lives and keep us safe. The event is open to the public.
Thursday, November 19, in celebration of this year’s Manufacturing Day 2015, SEKISUI SPI will host more than 80 high school students and teachers from area several high schools. Students will learn about different career opportunities including engineering, supply chain, research and development, color science, human resources, and marketing. The event is invite only.
“It’s important for companies like SPI to offer experiences outside the classroom to students,” says COO and President, Ronn Cort. “As manufacturers, we need to be better advocates for ourselves to show the depth and breadth of opportunity manufacturing offers. There is an increasing demand for highly skilled professionals in the manufacturing sector who can design, program, and operate technology.”

9:00-10:30AM and 11:00AM-12:30PM
Each workshop includes experiments that explore how science and technology improve our lives and keep us safe with products we use every day; perfect for the budding scientist, engineer, or overall curious mind. Enrollment of up to 60 students in each workshop is on a first-come, first-served basis. Register at www.sekisui-spi.com by October 27. Classes are free. Limit one workshop per student.
Manufacturing Day is an annual event executed at the local level and supported by thousands of manufacturers as they host students, teachers, and other community members at open houses, plant tours, and presentations to showcase modern manufacturing technology and careers.
