Welcome Matt Weigle, Vice President of Information Technology

SEKISUI Polymer Innovations, LLC, is pleased to welcome Matt Weigle to the team as Vice President of Information Technology (IT). 

As SEKISUI SPI continues investing in automation and technology for its Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) model, the time came to enhance our IT capabilities with visionary leadership.

As the Vice President of IT, Matt will further develop SEKISUI SPI’s IT department while focusing on strategy, goals, people, architecture, routines, and culture. He will strategically lead new and existing technology projects to advance business objectives and provide high- quality support for existing systems and infrastructure. In addition, he will provide strategic direction for all technological initiatives in collaboration with senior staff and will maintain and enhance the reliability and functionality of SEKISUI SPI’s IT systems.

Matt comes to SEKISUI SPI with 22 years of IT experience, including 20 years at Hitachi in various manufacturing environments. He holds several IT certifications, a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science from Penn State University, and an MBA from Edinburgh Business School. He is currently finishing an MBA in Supply Chain Management at Penn State University.

SEKISUI SPI provides thermoplastic material solutions for aviation interiors, mass transit, medical devices, and other business sectors. Capital investments include an $8.4 million automated blending and mixing system in the company’s Bloomsburg, PA, South Campus, as well as significant investments in the infrastructure and technology of its designLab® and new appLab™ customer collaboration areas.

The company’s mass-customization model is moving from consumer goods to industrial markets. Technology advances in manufacturing have helped to better meet this demand through Industry 4.0 and next generation manufacturing techniques.

SEKISUI SPI has invested in equipment and facility expansions to help customers develop unique brand-, and user-focused solutions. The integration of new technologies requires an individual like Matt, who has the necessary vision, experience, and IT skills as well as an appreciation of SEKISUI SPI’s culture of lifting people up and conducting business with honesty and integrity.
